These instructions look great. However I can't find a remote.ini, or IRremote.ini in my windows directory. I'm running Windows 7. Does anybody know if I can just add the file?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll answer my own question.

It seems that the 45 button remote that I bought uses the Microsoft drivers. The driver it uses has something to do with "eHome".

I loaded up EventGhost and installed the "Microsoft MCE Remote" plugin, and it recognized my hauppage remote. I was then able to configure the remote through EventGhost.

How did you load the IR Software in Windows 7?

I got the USB Haupauge DVB-T Card and this all works in Media Centre but the Remote does not appear top work

Does your remote work in Windows Media Centre but not in XBMC? Or neither?

Hi there

I've changed the irremote.ini file, adding in the code etc. For the most part the remote works great, except when I want to turn the volume up. When I hit volume up nothing happens, then the remote stops working completely. Even the keyboard doesn't work, and I end up having to use the mouse to stop the movie and reboot XBMC.

I love XBMC, after faffing around with mediaportal and windows it's lovely. But not much good if I can't get the volume to go up as well as down. Any suggestions pleaseConfused

Many thanks

Southie

Hi, sorry to bump an old thread but I have searched everywhere. Does anyone have the keymap code to shut windows down from the Green Power button?

Everything else is working great but when I shut down XBMC I'd prefer just to hit the green button a second time to shutdown windows also.

Hi there.

First of all, thanks to who created this thread, it worked very well and now I can use my Happauge remote with XBMC.

But now I would like to go further. Some of you may know that in Windows 8, you can use a Windows Media Center Remote to navigate through the Metro Interface, and I would like to ask how should I modify my Irremote.ini to do this.

I just need few basic controls: to be able to move up-down-left-right, to select one of the tiles with the "OK" button, and to be able to launch the Metro Interface with the "Go" button of the remote.

Is this possible? How?

Thanks, and sorry for bumping this thread, but it's the only place where I found people talikng about what I need.

Oh, and another thing, in the first page of this post there's a link to a program that is supposed to help modifying the Irremote.ini file easily, but the link is broken, has anybody this file?
