Have you guys ever considered allowing scene release names to be added to episodes? Maybe like a separate field listing all known filenames?

This would totally negate the need for (sometimes) inaccurate scrapping, pattern matching etc.

Just a thought.

I don't think we want to be linked that closely with possible sources of infringing material...

Actually, we have. There are one of two methods that will handle scene releases better without us actually listing releases, since we're not interested in that.

1. File hashes. We may allow file hash lookups, so it would be an exact lookup of a specific file. This would work well for legitimate downloads as well (like those from iTunes). Wouldn't work nearly as well for self-recorded episodes.

2. Series AKA. If people add the scene directory name as the AKA for a series, it's very easy to do exact lookups. I have no problem with this since it has alternate legitimate uses, like giving an easy, unique alternate for file naming schemes.

On the new site, and it'll have to be handled by XBMC at that time as well (I'm sure they'd accept a patch).

I really like the file hashes idea, can't wait to use it.

Any ETA on the new TVDB?

hello

having some small issues with this addon
i am getting tv info for series with this plugin. in the settings i set "de" as language so i assume the script will get german descriptions for my tv shows

however this is not working for all. for (only) one TV Show (Greys Anatomie - die jungen Ärzte) the script is always getting english descriptions instead of germans which are available at the page --> http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73762&lid=14

all other tv shows got german descriptions

what can i do in order to force the script to get the correct german descriptions?
