I successfully installed XBMC and Boxee using the ATVUSB patchstick.
XBMC is looking good and running fine. However, I cannot for the life of me get it to find all of my media. I have all of the media on two external hard drives which are attached to an iMac. The iMac is attached to a US Robotics wireless router/modem.
XBMC can connect to the internet to check weather. The iMac is also connected to the internet. I have enabled UPnP on the router. I have disabled all security for troubleshooting.
I loaded XBMC onto the iMac as well and clicked "Enable UPnP Server" I then browsed around and selected the various folders I wanted it to serve.
When I go back to XBMC on the ATV, and browse to add a source nothing under UPnP is showing up.
Anyone have some tips for getting this working? I am open to using SMB or anything else that will work.
The iMac is plugged into an Ethernet Jack and has wireless, the ATV is plugged in to ethernet and can access the internet that way, but it will not show up in Itunes unless it is running on wireless. Perhaps that has something to do with all of this.
