So I tried a fresh install today to see if it made a difference. I was very careful to remove *everything* to make sure I would have a fresh start. I'm sad to say there was no change...I can still change thumbs just fine but not fanart.
I did try selecting "no image" to see what would happen. Well the image disappeared as it should but when I try to select a new image it does nothing. So now for one of my series I have just that - nothing.
Is this an issue with the skin (PM3.HD)? Should it be posted there?
I'd really like to get this fixed. =)
The XBMC team, plug-in devs, skinners, etc. do this for us for FREE in their spare time because they want to. Think about that for a second before you start bitching...

Sorry new user but... couldn't you just go into the user folder and replace the incorrect tbn from the fanart folder with the correct image?
I know the bug should be reported and looked into but in the mean time this could be a workaround....
I am just starting my first xbmc (windows) build... I personally have decided to use the Media Companion application to do the scraps and create nfos for all my media, along with including both poster and fanart in the directory.
This pretty much replaces any auto cover/fanart download and gives me control over all images...
I know this means adding media is not "hands free" but since I only add 3-4 movies a week its not so bad and I can ensure everything is the way I want it to start with. Also with nfo files, once you make a change it is always there in case you have to rebuild.
I have rebuilt my machine/library a number of times (with meedio) and ALWAYS was annoyed with having to do my library edits etc which took hours. Its kind of nice to return to a nfo system where your changes will stay with the media and always be correct...
