MythTV MPEG4 video problems (playing at 2x speed)
#1
Hey,

I'm running Mythbuntu hardy x86 (current as of today) with the hardy PPAs (SVN r15850), and I wanted to try out the MythTV support to see if I could get rid of mythfrontend.

Everything works well up until I try playing something. When I play a recording, it runs at 2x speed (even though XBMC thinks it's at standard playback) with no sound, and when I play LiveTV it runs at normal speed, but with no sound.

The debug log is at http://www.layabout.se/fnord-xbmc.log - hope it helps.

If I play the recording in mplayer, it says this:

fnord@gentry:/var/lib/mythtv/recordings$ mplayer -demuxer lavf 2069_20081020000000.mpg

..and plays beautifully, with audio.

Audio track 2, however, which should be AC3 and should play fine, doesn't:

Might this be what's tripping XBMC up? I'm transcoding all recordings to MPEG4 in MythTV, with the settings for "High Quality": MPEG-4, bitrate 2200, max quality 2, min quality 15, max quality diff 3 and scale bitrate for frame size.

Help!

You have set your default audio device to "iec958". Only your passthrough device should be set to that. Restore it to "default"
