Streaming from Ubuntu HTPC (running XBMC) to AppleTV XBMC

I have a htpc running Ubuntu 8.04 and XBMC in my main living room. I decided to try the AppleTV XBMC in my kids tv room so that i could wirelessly stream the disney and cartoon movies. Both my htpc and Appletv are using wireless 802.11g. I am asking if i should be setting up a samba share from my htpc or use upnp (built in xbmc). I have already tried the upnp server to client and it works; but it takes a long time to get the movies to play (buffering). Will a samba share improve the speed?

By the way, the XBMC is absolutely awesome.

Thanks,

Mike

I stream from a Ubuntu server to my AppleTV over SMB with wireless-g. It takes a couple of seconds buffering (and I have increased the buffer for local LAN to 8MB to avoid buffering problems while watching).
