I'm having an issue running XBMC Live off a USB stick.

When I try to boot from CD, I can get right into XBMC Live. I created a USB bootable, but after the splash screens, it asks for a Login. The screen shows

Loading, please wait...

Ubuntu 8.04.1 XBMCLive tty1

XMBCLive login:

At this point, I enter xbmc/xbmc and it just sits there. Not sure what I'm doing incorrectly here. Booting from the CD, I see this screen for a split second before it starts XBMC Live, but I don't have to enter any info.

Any help would be appreciated.

try to logon as "root" (no pwd) and type "startx"; let me know what happens.
I would also use a different USB disk to check if it's a media problem.
