Subtitles and streaming video
#1
There are a lot of internet-stream frameworks, for example the widely used dutch XOT UTZ "uitzending gemist" script. This works perfect but i think there is more possible if there is support for subtitles. You could steam video's en make the framework first download the subtitle for you. This subtitle then get's downloaded in the locale subtitle directory on your pc/mac/xbox en when the video starts it uses this subtitle with it.
As far as i understand the working method of the video playback i don't know why this is not working. Is there such a difference between local/samba and internet streams?
The local/samba playback first checks the subtitle directory (if the option is enabled) en looks for a subtitle with the same name. This does not work for streaming video as far as i tested it.

Did i do something wrong/ did i miss something or is this maybe a feature request?
