Looking for Clarification

Hello All,

I have read most of the threads here, and I have read the wiki, and I have to say that I'm still a bit uncertain as to how this works. If someone could take the time to explain it to me I would be so grateful.

Do you have to write the code for every single movie you own?

Do you have to put .nfo files into all the folders of the movies you own?
(These files are for offline use, right?)
I am also curious as to know as to how about the proper naming convention.

I apologize before hand for the questions and although I have read the threads, I'm still a bit uncertain, and I strongly believe that the dumbest question is the one that you don't ask.
