[APPLE TV] XBMC on AppleTV - How do I run the Hulu Plugin run on the ATV?

Hello to ALL and to the GURU's of XBMC..

I've installed XBMC on my ATV and i have it still empty... I think i need to load and set up where the music/videos/pics are still, because it's not automatic.

On the other hand : I was wondering if.... there is a way to see HULU or another web content TV channel ( like FOX, NBC, etc ) to play and see ONLINE TV..

If so.. there is also another problem for me: I am out of the USA ( in EUROPE ) , and those sites check for the IP address, blocking my access.

Then I've found a solution : I've set up a PROXY server in my MACPRO ( and thus I can cheat the URL of HULU, NBC and so on...)

Can we do the same in the AppleTV ?

How can we see ONLINE TV from those senders ( HULU, tc etc )

What would be the tricks to do ?

Is XMBC able handle it ?

Yep, I just took the plunge on XBMC and am trying to figure out how to get content to show, especially online TV from Hulu or others.

You need to investigate video plugins for most web based content:

I'd unzip those and put them in your /Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/XBMC/Plugins/Video folder (check me on that - it's from my memory)

Then you'll have to add a new video plugin from the XBMC interface.

A few of the super cool ones no longer work. Hulu isn't in the list but it IS supported by Boxee. Give that a look if you're interested.

I'm having trouble installing a plugin. I copy it to the directory you suggest but then it doesn't appear on the list in xbmc.
Any ideas?

I recently grabbed the Hulu plugin for XBMC, and overall it works well...my issue is that when I want to play a H264 video, the video looks like it is in fast forward, while the audio isn't...the video then pauses and tries again with no luck.

I am assuming this is a hardware issue, but I do know that H264 files play great locally in XBMC, so why not in Hulu? I am hoping for a little insight as to get around this problem.

Note: I don't like Hulu yet in Boxee, mostly because it plays funny already, and there are advertisements. Also, I tried playing the standard def videos, and the quality is practically unwatchable for me...I would love to play the H264 files!

This has been discussed several times in the Hulu thread. H264 streams have problems on all platforms, there is a bug in the rtmplib that xbmc uses.

For the future, please, if you have a concern about a plugin, please ask it in the plugin's release thread. Plugins should be platform agnostic unless stated otherwise, so any problems most likely lie with the plugin itself instead, and not the XBMC port you're using.

That link doesnt work. I also have installed XBMC-Bluecop-Hulu etc etc. Looks good. Looks like it is starting to work. But it always gives me a smil error, hashlib, or somesuch. Also tried Myth thing. No luck. I have identical failures on ipad, iphone and AppleTV2. Each had dif JBs, all three have hulu(I am also a paid member)But the only program that works is classic movies.
