I have the same problem of XBMC not starting in Vista. I tried copying the msvcr71.dll to \Windows\system and \Program Files\XBMC, and I also tried the jester build, nothing works. Below is the xbmc.log. Anything else I should try besides reinstalling OS?

Hi

Just wondered if anyone found a fix for this problem. Mine is the same as others, the .dll was missing so I installed that but XBMC is crashing on startup.

fingers crossed I can get this fixed because I wanna check out the lovely themes

I've been running XBMC fine on my XP system, but I had to do a fresh install and I selected Vista Ultimate 32bit. All the components are the same, just a new OS. I've tried the .dll replacement (although the it never mentioned it was missing). But still can't get it to start. Just keeps crashing on startup.

Hi, I'm also hoping someone can help me as well. I'm on a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7. Whenever I open XBMC it immediately tells me XBMC has stopped working.
