Only when using Media stream does this happen. When browsing my pictures a "manage profile" screen pops up almost every image asking for my username and password. Even when i enter it it pops up on the very next try.

maybe the network settings and the default user + pass could help you

but it does not happen on pm3 nor does it remember the username / pass when i enter it.

Further information, this only happens when in the "pictures" or "image stream" view. Does not happen when in list or cover flow...

Hmm... could be related to the use of the largeimage control then? Try editing the ViewPics.xml file, remove all the largeimage controls and see if that works.
