my wish is:
i have a nokia dbox2 digitalreceiver, and i want to use ist with my xbox. to record movies and to play movies over network.

i can record movies to the xbox in linux with ggrab+sserver. but to load the xbmc is faster then to load linux. to record a movie, i select record on the dbox2 menu. so the xbox bring me a popup on screen: start record. to stop the same. i can make too, timerrecords with the dbox2.
on my dbox2 is linux (neutrino)

im not a programmer...so im asking does it matter what kind of capture card/program you are using to capture the video?

is the stream transferrable over a network? i have a new wireless network that can do around 8mbit /sec ...and using smb at the moment i only use about 300kbytes /sec for vcds/svcds...so thats sweet  :d

i have a winfast2000xp tuner with hncplus great for australians is it possible to send this stream to the xbox and play it?

i own a dbox2 (thats a digital satelite receiver) running under linux (yes - works very great! and i have the possibility to stream from my pc to the receiver vice versa via some little tools on the pc-side.

are there any possibilities to do the same with xbox instead of the pc?

actually there were some guys on the german forums of evo-x.de who started a project going in this direction but unfortunately it never came to a release because of lack of support. i would also love seeing this feature as i could use my xbox for recording.

when you have a dbox2 (dvb) with linux you can stream your
tv-programm direct to pc with a tool called ngrab.
is it possible to include in xbmc a plugin that i can stream directly to a xbox folder ? (the streams are running on xbox very good)
