Dual screens with different resolutions and purposes

so im looking around and see that a lot of HTC cases come with 7" touch screens... and im wondering if its possible to have xbmc run on my hdtv, while the touch screen shows stuff like controls for the currently playing content.. or arrows to go through the setting.. all while the hdtv is playing content.
