Freeze when I stop Videos/DVD
#1
Hi,

Im using Ubuntu and XBMC...

My problem is that I can't use the stop button. If I use it XBMC freezes for ~3min and the sound hangs... After 3min I'm back in XBMC but the sound still hangs...

the strange thing is that some DVDs are working and some DVD/avis are not working?

Thanks

Version and a log at the least - using pastebin for teh log - would probably go a long ways to folks helping you with this...

I'm using

Linux Distribution: Ubuntu 8.10
Architecture: Amd64
Install Method: PPA and later build.sh

here is my log:
http://pastebin.com/m7d167570

If I open XBMC with my shell and stop a film I get this message in the shell:
Code:
ALSA lib pcm_pulse.c:629:(pulse_prepare) PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: Timeout

ALSA lib pulse.c:272:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Timeout

If I run XBMC with sudo ... everyting is fine -.-

Thanks

Have you looked at this thread -> http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=40249 It's a sticky - PulseAudio has been a problem. Also 64bit Ubuntu has apparently been a problem too. I'm on 32bit 8.04 running smooth so I don't have insight into your specific issue other than having seen others post problems with PulseAudio Sad

hi, thanks

it can be fixed with using:

Quote:On the client all I need to do is to define the

default-server = ; set this to ip where your pulse server is running

or

Quote:pulseaudio -k
sleep 2
xbmc
pulseaudio -D

It can also be fixed by not using pulse audio. I removed it and now XBMC is running smooth! Smile thanks to AlTheKiller for the suggestion!
