And in this thread he has made them available to download (see the first post). |

True but all textures are RGB 8bit so i could make them 32k 8bit but i am not sure if there is a batch program to do this or i will need to do it for all 300+ textures lol. |

Looks like its Paint shop pro time once this is done it done lol am not sitting going through 321 textures and reducing the colours again.Ok reduced all textures to (32k 8 bit Channels) Now they texture.xpr is only 4.12mbs and texture quality set to max download the new one on page 1 tell me how works.

Thanks for the effort of reducing the XPR size again but IMO the trade-off has been for the worse.
The background images are showing a lot more visible banding and effects of size/IQ trade-off. |

Rocky - this new version works well - seems to be reducing the CPU load slightly and there is also seems to be more free memory. I don't really notice the lack in quality.
I guess the next thing to optimise would be the backgrounds - its a shame - i like them - but how much of the CPU / memory strain is down to them? When we have more of this figured out we should get a sticky thread started "HOW TO configure MediaStream for cool runnings on the Xbox"... |

The backgrounds are resized lol by 50% its just the way the skin is built it has lots of layers and fancy stuff that make it look nice but its a strain on the old dog. Two version are up now i fixed both of them. Version 2 doesn't actually look that bad now.
