XMBC as DVB-T Player
#1
Question
Hi!

I tried XMBC a while ago and found it a great piece of software!

I've been searching for a while and i'm a bit confused as i'm not sure if there's a plugin out there that would allow me to watch DVB-T on my linux box... I0ve read about a couple of ongoing projects but i'm not sure if any of them is ready for everyday use.

For clarification: the DVB-T card is in the same machine as where XMBC would run...

Anyone out there that has a achieved something like this?

Thank you very much in advance!

I thought there was a plugin for Myth tv.

If you have a windows(sorry) box on your network, you can set up orb with your tv tuner (has to be in your windows pc) and stream it as a upnp device.

Hi plafuro, you can set up mythtv (only the backend is needed) and add the stream from your mythtv box as a video source I believe.

The mythtv backend can be physically on the same machine (probably even easier that way) or another machine and an epg is currently being worked on to make the presentation of tv within xbmc more seamless than it currently is, but basic functionality already exists.

Have a look at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...ght=mythtv and http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...ght=mythtv for details...

Might want to look at http://dvblogic.com/dvbviewer.php
Powered by the same UPnP engine as XBMC so it should stream fine...
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

Latest DVB Recording Service for DVBViewer supports UPnP for free! but it seems to be incompatible with DVDPlayer (works fine on the Xbox with mplayer)
