#1
Hi,

I've added a source to the sources list and I want to remove it.

How do I do it?

Right click shows no menu.

Right click works if I already added the source, but not from the 'Add source' menu(where I see the sources I can add and not the sources I added).

you mean you want to remove something from the list of available sources you can add?

impossible. it reflects the available drives & paths of your system. unless you hide a partition or remove a drive from your system, it will show up here.

if your case is to hide certain sources from being added by someone else using your machine, you should

- add all the sources you want to be available to everyone
- activate the "disable add source buttons in file lists" option in settings->appearance->view options
- passwort protect the settings dialog.

this way only already added sources can be used by other ppl than you.

if that's not what you want, be more specific.

The list is stored in mediasources.xml, under userdata.

There's no such file in userdata, only sources.xml.

I want to remove a source since when I added it, I wrote smb://ip... and now it shows in the sources list as smb://smb/dir.. which, of course, doesn't work.

It's only there if you've actually added a network location via "Add Network Location...", which is from:

Add Source -> Browse -> Add Network Location...

It only shows up in the Browse list above.

Jonathan

I did add it via the "Add Network Location...".
Can I remove it retrospectively?

Yes, by removing it from mediasources.xml

Mystery?

You're probably looking in the wrong userdata dir. You need the user specific one in c:\docs and settings\username\appdata\xbmc\ or w/e the path is, not the one in program files.
