I searched but wasn't sure.

I got confused in that it's open source, with no source available on the site (or maybe the page is just down today). I figured it could just be a skin with some add-on modules, with xbmc as the core, but since I wasn't sure, I figured I would just ask.

They do provide the source to all changes within the XBMC core, on their website (there's a tarball with the necessary changes). I believe that said source is only available to their users (which is all they're obliged to offer under the license).
