Shoutcast - lost need help
#1
So when I started using shoutcast everyone said that it you can add it to XBMC as it's already setup.

It was and I had to use the manual to find the code to add it to the music section.

So now I have to go in and out of libary mode to access shout cast as it does't show up in libary mode.

Then a dev the other day said it should, now what am I missing?

I really want to get this fixed as it drives my wife nuts switching views all the time.

Did you remove the source and then add it again? That allows it to show up in library mode (make sure to add the source after you have already created the library).

And what do you mean you had to use the manual? Don't manually add it to sources.xml. Click on the Add Source button in context menu and add it that way.

Shoutcast Streams
This type of media source will contact http://www.shoutcast.com and list the webradio streams provided by them. This source is available in Music by default.

<source>
<name>SHOUTcast - Directory</name>
<path>shout://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newxml.phtml</path>
<!-- direct links to genres and searches are allowed -->
<!-- shout://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newxml.phtml?genre=Funk -->
<!-- shout://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newxml.phtml?genre=Top500 -->
<!-- shout://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newxml.phtml?search=[stationname] -->
</source>

This source is available in Music by default.

Now I'm not usually so dense on these matters, but when I goto add source I do not see anything that allows me to add shoutcast.

Unless I have to add the URL manually. but that doesn't make sense.

Does it help I'm canadian?

Nope.. Cuz I am Canadian Smile

But, that is old. Do not add manually.

There is for sure a Shoutcast source when you click Add Source (do it from Files View).

It may help for you to list out what you see when you click on Add Source. Then when you click on Browse, Shoutcast is listed there!

So, not sure what you are doing... Ignore what you see in the manual. Remove what you manually added in sources.xml and add it via the GUI as I outlined above.

Not everything in that manual is outta shape right?

Like the autoclean feature, that prevents xbmc from removing files if the smb share offline eh?

Like I said I'll test that tonight, I'm sure it'll work.

Now shoutcast is fixed, all that left is my comics bug Smile
