Audio Muted? not really
#1
I have set my XBMC for digital out for audio. It will mute sound when audio track is MP3, but won't mute the audio when it is digital source like AC3.

DTS/AC3 are only handled via pass-through, so we don't touch the stream in any way, including volume. Most users who use this feature do so through an amp which they would much prefer to use to control volume.

having a functional mute button won't hurt anything

you didn't get the point. he said digital output is not touched in any way by xbmc. this simply includes volume changing.

most (if not all) of the digital receivers out there will loose the signal completely as soon as the input stream gets modified by anything outside when receiving a digital signal. so the source signal needs to be untouched and not processed in any way.. else you get cut-offs. and yes - they hurt Wink
