I'm pleased to announce the beta release of XES (XBMCEyetvScraper), a companion plugin with XEP (XBMCEyetvParser). XES and XEP work with XBMC and Boxee (plex is untested, anyone?). XEP is relatively simple, XES is complex, read the readme.
The latest versions can be found in the add-on SVN (http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-addons/) and as zips at (http://powername.com/XBMC/)
XES attempts to use XBMC's library functions by creating a TV Shows directory of symbolic links to your actual Eyetv files, and scrape thetvdb for nfo files, banners, and fanart.
When run through my Eyetv library it correctly identified about 90% of my Eyetv TV Shows. You can then manually work the outliers easily without affecting your original files.
This may not be my "Holy Grail" of getting full library support in my plugin, but it's pretty close until the XBMC codebase allows more functionality from plugins. It's pretty friggin cool though.
