I am newbie, probably stupid question. But in my XBMC directory i have no xbmc.log file

the log file is probably being created in your XBMC application data folder @C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\XBMC on xp any way

debugging enabled, but in the directory /XBMC nothing about xbmc.log .....

How hard is it to search your file system for *xbmc*.log

i search in all over my system and found only .log from mediaportal - my previous mc

you won't find it easily. It is usually tagged as HIDDEN. To find it, open up a folder (any folder will do) and go to Tools/ Folder Options/ View in there look for "Show hidden files and folders", make sure it's checked. Now go to C:\Documents and Settings\"THE NAME OF YOUR USER"\Application Data\XBMC. You'll find the xbmc.log in there. Hope this helps.
