Does it matter where XBMC gets installed?

Configure defalts to usr/local/share, but if you apt-get extra skins and the like they go in /usr/share ... so, if I tell configure to put it all in /usr/share, will anything be adversely affected?

I figure that it would interfere with the PPA versions, but I haven't been using those.
