Lock-up ~10min into playing video
#1
System details:
XBMC v8.10 final
Vista SP1 32bit
ATI Radeon 4650 v8.561.0.0
Intel E4500 CPU
2GB RAM

While playing a video (any codec, any format), it will lock-up some time between 7-15min into playing it. I am able to end the application with the task manager and restart it without an issue. This problem started after I figured out my VSync issue, so I think it has something to do with that. ATI is now set to "On, unless application specifies" and XBMC is set to "Let driver decide." (This is the only setup that fixes my video tearing problem).

This happens on any video, with any codec/format.

Full debug log: http://www.dodgeboy.net/xfer/xbmc_crash.log
Full debug log2: http://www.dodgeboy.net/xfer/xbmc_crash2.log (note: this one lasted about 20 mins - the longest yet)

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

switch off the upnp client under network and it will probably fix it
(still need to raise a ticket for this....)

I uninstalled, removed the XBMC folder (retained my profile, though) and reinstalled the same version cleanly, and the problem seems to be gone. I've watched about an hour and a half worth of video and it hasn't locked up once. It's possible that something from one of the other builds was left dangling with the original build and was messing things up. For now, it looks like the problem is fixed. I'll update again if it locks.

odd I was getting the same error.

I installed a 64bit OS yesterday, the default 8.10 release was okay.

But when I tried the most recent build the application kept locking 10-20mins under vista

for please reading this, there is a trac ticket for this now:
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/5563

it seems an issue with the new platinum libupnp, if you switch off the uphp client in XBMC it should solve this issue for now....

just to let everybody know, the issue is fixed, i'm building a new build which includes this fix so we should be able to leave the upnp client on again.

Cool it's work great with the serivce off. So I'll just leave it off as I was only using it to test.

Thanks for the recent build working really good, noticing something strange with the music libary scanning but I can't really explain the bug yet..
