Can anyone please explain to me why on XBMC Live! lirc just seems to suddenly stop working? It keeps happening to me. Its not machine specific either. I don't understand why it happens. I don't make any changes to any config files, reboot the PC or anything else, yet it just seems to give up and stop picking up the remote. I don't get any error messages, /dev/lirc0 and /dev/lircd both exist and lircd is running, yet the PC will not respond to the remote. If I run irw it just immediatly stops running and goes back to the command prompt. I've tried two different remote controls, an MCE one and the Xbox DVD playback kit and I have the same problem with both on two different PCs.
I would really appreciate some help, this is really making me pull my hair out!
