XBMC is working fine and I got one of the latest SVN versions.
Enabling vsync during playback realy does cut CPU usage down a lot.

But while experimenting I discovered the following:

When I minimize XBMC and then maximize XBMC again using the taskbar, the CPU usage DROPS dramatically from 8-10% to 0% most of the time.

XBMC still behaves the same after the min-max trick

Setup:
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
1,5 GB RAM
ATI HD 3850 8.12 driver
Event Ghost ujsing Harmony One

Can this info be used to keep the CPU usage always this low in idle mode without doing the minimize maximize trick

No only when minimizing. Does the same thing with resuming from S3. Discovered that some months ago http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=228...tcount=105 and http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=230...tcount=109. Devs don't seem to do anything with that info

It looks like there is a track ticket made by Dragonfly 3 months ago and sho marked it for milestone 9.04. So they are aware, but are taking care of what they feel are higher priority issues ATM.

Damn what do you think from us? We aren't gods and if you would read the stickies you would know the situation of the windows port. I simply don't know if this will help us or not. I'm no expert of Windows and all it's specific problems I just try to fix or add what I can in the few hours I have beside my RL.
Instead of whining and picking on us Devs try to find someone who is able to help us.
