For some reason, my mouse clicks aren't working in XBMC. I can see the mouse on screen, and it responds to movement, but none of the buttons, scroll, have any effect. Ideas?

Sorry to revive an old post, but did you ever find solution to this? I have exactly the same problem on a clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 and the latest stable XBMC release.
About 75% of the time when I start XBMC, the mouse cursor is present and responds just fine, but does not respond to any button presses. Keyboard works fine, and the mouse setting is enabled in XBMC Settings. Sometimes if exit and restart XBMC several times it starts working, but other times no matter how many times I start there's no mouse clicking possible.
BTW the mouse is a cheap Dell one.
