Movie Info Plus is a similar app that is open source (meaning anyone can help code it), it is only available for Windows today but fekker is currently porting it to Mono which once complete means that it will be much easier to port it to Mac OS X and Linux as well.

While the mono version is still a ways out, you can use it under OSX using wine.
http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX/Installing Wine 1.1.9 .. 1.1.10 .. newer versions should work as well.. it's takes some work as paths have to be entered into the config.xml.. and some gui options (numeric up down) don't display.. all options come from the config and can be set there. ![]() XBMC Flicks - Netflix for XBMC http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=87552 XBMC Guide for adding Movies/Media Universal Media Manager - http://universalmc.sourceforge.net/ Media Info Plus -(old product) http://sourceforge.net/projects/movieinfoplus/ |

Ok so I have been having issues using the built in scraper as of late... for some reason it won't find any of my shows automatically any more like it used to and after going through several 'set content' scraper options like IMDB, TVRAGE etc... I'll finally find one that scrapes but then it scrapes the wrong data or doesn't find the show or if I go to TV show information to force it to scan it comes up with this huge list of shows to choose from when before on the same exact content, shows, and folders (nothing has changed and nothing has been renamed) it used to find everything auto just fine... anyhow I'm frustrated and would like to rescan my library but is there an app out the for Mac that will do this and create files (maybe .nfo?) that can be imported into XBMC? I know windows has XBMC media companion but are there any Mac Apps like this?

Have you tried the default tvdb TV scraper?
I'd say the naming of your files is the problem, an external app will not help you there. Please provide a debug log from a scan if you want further assistance. I'm at work now, but I'll post a debug log when I get home... It would be odd if this was a file naming issue as XBMC has scanned these same folders and added the shows just fine in the past...

I am trying to find a way to better manage my movie collection on my AppleTV running XBMC. While I love XBMC (thanks to all the authors!), there are some aspects that make it hard to manage a large collection of movies.
Modifying the library (e.g. download/update info and thumbs from the internet) from within the ATV, it's kinda hard. For one, I can't easily access the contextual menu for a particular title. I had to resort to the terminal and use my mac to do that. Once in the contextual menu, there was no easy way to "refresh" the entries as there is on my XBMC classic (8.10 PROPER). At this time I have to manually add movies to the library in my XBOX classic (8.10), export the library, import it into ATV, then manually copy over the thumbs. And even then, adding movies to my XBOX is still a rather painful process (read: typing titles using the gamepad...). I thought of tagging my MP4s using MetaX, but as far I know XBMC won't read the tags. Scanning a folder for new content is not a viable option because I have a lot of foreign movies and, in general, it will produce too many errors and mismatches. For me the best solution would be to be able to do all my library management from a desktop and then import the library and thumbs into XBMC. I did take a look at the videodb.xml and I could manually fix mistakes using a text editor. But again, it's rather cumbersome and prone to error. Am I making this more difficult than it is? Does anyone share my same issues? Any suggestions? |

MIP will work under wine, which works under OSX.
