Internally Mounted MCE Module?
#1
Anyone have any suggestions or experiences with mounting their MCE Infrared Modules inside the PC Case? I would love to see any photos or descriptions of how people are doing this.

Thanks...I managed to get my MCE Module disassembled, wrapped with electrical tape to insulate it, and inside my case. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the front of my case, and I have the IR "eye" visible through that hole.

I attempted to desolder the eye from the circuit board using a desoldering braid so I could extend it with some wires, but was only able to desolder the supports, not the 3 pins actually used for the signal. Since I was able to desolder the supports, I was able to slightly and gently bend the IR Eye to make it more visible through the hole, but I'm still not satisfied. I did some dremeling inside the case to allow the module to be closer to the front of the case, but I still need to do a little more.
