XBMC 1080p HTPC Specs?

I'm looking for advice on speccing my new HTPC.

The box's sole task will be running XBMC and I want
to make it as small, quiet and low wattage as possible.

If HW acceleration was supported by XBMC I'd be thinking
Atom about now.

Currently I'm going for a Shuttle X100 configured with
a Core 2 Duo T7200.

Will this support 1080p H.264 playback? Is there a
cheaper/simpler/quieter way of doing this?

I don't require many of the features of the Shuttle.
Everything in my house is connected via wired ethernet.
I have no need for storage on the box so I'd prefer 4-8GB
of Compact Flash/SD/SATA or express card SSD.
I store everything on the network so I don't need an optical drive.
I'll be connecting it up via HDMI and using a bluetooth remote.

If I could get the power usage under 30W I could power this thing
with homebrew PoE. In the event of a miraculous solution using
under 13W (15.4W minus loss in the cable) I could power it via my
existing Cisco core switch.

I'd appreciate any thoughts!
