[Mac OS X / ATV] Third-party SVN builds of XBMC for Mac (unofficial and unsupported)
I'm confused...

I added the sshcs to the download list, and it shows sbmc r22867 as available to download.

However the download fails, seemingly because r22867 is not available for OSX.

I've manually downloaded r22528, the most recent available osx build, but I don't understand where I am supposed to put this or do with it.

I'm on windows, and have winscp, and can get to the various directories on the ATV.

Am I supposed to extract the dmg and dump its files into the xbmc.app folder directly, or am I supposed to copy the zip or dmg file somewhere on the ATV and let it automatically install somehow?

I can rename the r22528 file to r22867, but where do I put it for the downloader to recognize it?

You want to replace the XBMC.app on your Apple TV w/ the one you downloaded.

ok, but how exactly?

I know how to do it on the xbox, but what am I supposed to do with the tgz or dmg file?

I must be missing something. Running the following -

ATV 2.4 | XBMC 9.0.4.1 | Launcher 3.1

Updated the Launcher-

defaults write com.teamxbmc.xbmclauncher XBMCAdditionalDownloadPlistURLs -array http://www.sshcs.com/xbmc/Info.asp

Still stuck on R20677 but now I can see r22968 in Launcher | Downloads, but when I choose it, I just get 'Ar error occurred.' Can I just download that dmg file direct from somewhere ?

http://www.sshcs.com/xbmc/ just seems to have xbox and windows builds. From what I gather I just need a MacOS 10.4 build.

Thanks!

EDIT: Looks like the file referenced in the Info.ASP on sshcs is not there-

If you go to sshcs.com/xbmc directly, you will see that osx build has not been updated since 8/31/09 build 22968.

apparently, the only way to update currently is manually, via following the posts/links above yours.

Where you able to figure this out? I'm stuck in the same boat as you, just get an error occurred when trying to download the new svn.

Also running ATV 2.4 xbmc 9.04.1

Yup, was the same with r23060 yesterday. I went back to the last "stable" build of 20th Aug r22293 and that works fine.

I have video locking issues as well with both svn 23078 and svn 23060 on osx. the most recent version I have before that is 22293 which seems to work fine, except now that i have tried the newer builds the library seems to have issues when i go back (it appears empty, but the library works fine if i go back to 23078.

for anyone who can help ID this as a bug or a user disconnect here is my log
http://pastebin.com/m5e4faaae

The issue is when starting any video (albeit I only have tried .avi, .iso and mkv files, but at least 5 of them) the audio never works and then the video locks up at about 20 seconds. oddly the video progress bar keeps going as if it really is playing.

lastly I am running osx 10.5.8 on 2.4Ghz intel mac with 2GB memory

hey weavus,

when you went back did your library work? Did you have to rebuild it?

if i run 22293 the library is blank now, but if i reload 23060 or 23078 the library is working fine.

No, the library has changed between revisions and you can't use the r23060+ version with r22293. I used timemachine to restore my old library instead of deleting and rebuilding it from scratch but that would have worked as well.

That's exactly what I saw. Had to kill -9 the XBMC process.

good thinking! I always forget about timemachine.
