XBMC Crashing ATV when trying to play movie

Can XBMC play VIDEO_TS Folders on ATV? Yes or No?

Everytime I try to play a VIDEO_TS file, I get a horrendous digital noise sound going thru my receiver and ends up freezing the ATV. I have to end up unplugging ATV to stop it.

YES - it can play them, and very well.

Noise: Please learn to search and read before posting. This has been answered at least twice in the past week or so (by me).

I realise that you are new to this, but the answer is IMHO pretty obvious. You have got digital output enabled, and the volume turned up on your TV even though you may also be sending the AC3 or DTS audio to an AV receiver.

Alternatively, select analog out, and bot the S/PDIF and HDMI feeds will contain a two channel decoded audio from the AC3 or DTS in your files.

Any crashing is unrelated I think. How were your VIDEO_TS folders generated? DVD rip? Tools used...?
