I have XBMC on windows, running a Nvidia 8600 video card. I have a 50" plasma in the kids playroom on the dvi output and a 26" lcd on the component HDTV. Picture and sound is very good..... and I have the MCE remote working well in the playroom but I want to know the best way to control pc in the playroom from the kitchen when in there. I have tried installing two MCE IR receivers but this does not seem to work.... web server does not let me resume or skip, meaning watching from the start.

I have looked at using Netremote and Girder from the laptop in the kitchen but this is a bit complicated....

any suggestions...

You could try an Infra Red Remote extender, e.g. http://www.reallycleverhomes.co.uk/acata...l_set.html

actually I have one of these in the kitchen already which transmits signals to the utility room where the 2nd MCE receiver is located. I also have a USB UIRT on the HTPC, so am also trying to get this to work as a reciever for MCE Remote and keyboard, but no luck so far..... !
