As your name is Söder, I suppose that you live in Sweden.

I was unable to get audio through hdmi working with linux. As soon as X startup up there are crackling noises. The same hardware works fine with windows.

Might be cheaper to just buy an expansion card for now - a cheap 8400GTS sans fan would work just fine. If you look in the VDAPU development thread you will find some very specific examples of good cards. One thing to be aware of - many of the NVIDIA cards will NOT accelerate VC-1 video! Only some very specific 8x series cards will and several of those are mentioned in that thread. If VC-1 video is important to you then look for one of those for sure. This isn't a case where you need to spend a ton ot purchase the most cutting edge 9x card out there - many of the 8x cards will do just as well with this API and save you money. I think swapping a motherboard just to get this is an expensive way to go, just buy a card for your existig system...

Practicly all the 8200 or 8300 chipset motherboards support it.

Be sure to have the memory in Dual channel mode. And it's good to have hdmi port on th Mobo.

I ordered that one yesterday. I'll let you know how well it works.

From what I've read it should support VC-1 too.

In that case I use the new motherboard for me to use the new gfx, and use the motherboard I have now for a pc for my brother...

Actually I dont like the idee with an pci-e gfx when its possible to have one embedded..
