I just compiled the svn version of xbmc according to the wiki page. Playing my audio CD worked before (with official 8.10 Atlantis), but now when I insert the disc, the HTPC starts reading it and then xbmc dissappears and leaves the grey and naked X-server on the screen.
I'm using an server 8.10 ubuntu on an ATI790GX onboard VGA with catalyst 8.12/9.1.
Does anybody else have this problem?

I'm not exactly sure how subversion works, but I believe that's the version of the XBMC that's on the repo, not necessarily the one that's currently installed on your system.
It should be in your log file located in /var/tmp, very close to the top.

you mean this xbmc-xbmc.log file? It's 34kB big - too much to post here. I'll have a look.
in the /var/tmp/xbmc-xbmc.old.log from today in the morning:
07:46:16 T:3067688752 M:1646657536 NOTICE: Starting XBMC, Platform: GNU/Linux. Built on Feb 25 2009 (SVN:18104M)

Don't clip it and use pastebin.com or similar.
