Anyone tinkered with AMD Ganged vs Unganged Dual Channel RAM configuration?

Has anyone with an AMD chipset tinkered with "Ganged" vs "Unganged" configuration for RAM when using XBMC?

From what I understand, "Ganged" provides a single 128bit channel to the entire CPU, and "Unganged" provides a single 64bit independent channel to each CPU core. RAM is still in Dual Channel mode for both.

There is some thought that a multi-threaded application would benefit from Unganged mode since each core has access to it's own RAM channel. This seems like it would be the case as long as the 64bit channel wasn't a bottleneck for either core.

I currently have the BIOS configured to use Unganged mode and the system is still in Dual Channel mode according to the Boot screen.

Just wondering if anyone has looked into this further. XBMC has places where multiple cores are being used so Unganged may be beneficial, perhaps moreso for the multi-threaded h264 patch that some people are tryingHuh
