SRT subtitles: small bug
#1
Exclamation
Hi,

I've noticed a small bug in the recent builds: if the file with subtitle (SRT in my case) is NOT of the same name as the movie file (ie, you need to go to the 'audio' menu and select the subtitle file in order for subtitle to be displayed), the subtitle is never displayed. In other words, selecting subtitles doesn't seem to be working now - only the default way of loading subtitles works (subtitle file is of the same name as the movie file)

Rev #18309.

To clarify, it used to be working just fine at some point (till ~1-2 weeks ago - ie, revisions 179xx or so)..... Running under Ubuntu 8.04.2....

Thanks,

Can someone confirm if he's having the same problem on the Linux platform? Or is it just my setup?

PS: I can provide the logs, but unfortunately from what I saw there is no relevant information in there, no errors.

Actually, had some time today to do some more debugging... Looks like the output log does contain an error:

As I said though, if the subtitles file (SRT, ie, text subs) is renamed to match the name of the movie, the subtitles are open correctly. Can it be that XBMC has a problem reading this particular filename?

I think we will need the subtitle archive in order to fix this. If possible, please upload it somewhere or create a new ticket for this issue and attach it.

Well, pasted it here: http://pastebin.com/m1acbef2d . Not sure if you can get a 'raw' file from there. If not, let me know and I'll try to find a place to upload it (or will create a ticket).

From what I've seen though, it does not depend on subtitle - I can't get it working with any movie and any subtitle unless the subtitle file name matches the one of the movie.
