Sorry to post to such an old thread but am new to XBMC and my search brought this up....

I agree that XBMC is terriffic ,my question is why? I like to watch the linux action show (jupiter broadcasting) and in firefox on linux mint lisa lxde(yes THAT mint that says they provide all the multimedia support out of the box) it is jerky and flash well..it just sucks...in xbmc the same feed from the same same source plays beautifully (dvd quality) with not so much as a hiccup..Youtube is the same story....is it better codecs or what?Why does the xbmc media manager blow video in firefox(and chromium and opera) out of the water and why haven't the folk at mozilla incorporated this "secret" into their browser?
