Can't say exactly when, bu my XBMC o not start anymore.

-My OS is Ubuntu 8.10 i686 completely updated;
-Installed from PPA;
-version 8.10final1-intrepid5

Looks like you aren't using proper video drivers. You'll need to provide more details about your setup.
