Performance is great on

Windows Vista Ult 64
Core2Quad 6600
4gb Ram
Geforce 9800

Suprisingly it works fine even when encoding a vid with x264, no hick-ups even during playback.

HTPC:

Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400
4 x 1 GB Kingston ValueRAM DDR2-800
ASUS M3A
Sapphire Radeon HD3450 512 MB GDDR3 with Catalyst 9.2 (need to update to 9.3 sometime)

Most often I have several other tasks running like Firefox with 10-20 tabs, CodeBlocks, Photoshop, IM, Torrent client etc

I first ran XBMC on my 22'' with 1680x1050 over DVI and now on my 24'' with 1920x1200 with HDMI over DVI and never encountered a problem. Only issue I ever had was when TheTVDB was down and I tried to update my TV Shows library and everything froze.

Same setup here.. Doesn't matter how many background tasks I have running.. Nothing seems to slow this thing down for a second..

This system is very close to mine, but you have it running smoothly and I don't Sad. Well, now I know for sure the problem is not on the CPU cause you have the same as me. By the way, the 4850e is 2.5GHz not 2.0GHz.

Windows Vista x64
Intel Core 2 Duo E2700
2GB 800mhz ddr2
ATI Radeon HD 3700xt
XBMC - 1366x768 (running as own shell, got another vista user running in the background that takes care of torrenting and file management)

Stable and running smooth

QFT I have the same setup + 2 gigs more of memory and with showcase mode it lags badly. With the covers set to flat it flies though.

Seems that the type of graphic card is crucial to skin performance.

I have a builtin NVIDIA 7100 HDMI and it suffers on 1920x1080. Everyone with a 85400+ seems to have have smooth navigation.

can anyone here with a 780g get XBMC to run with triple buffering enabled? I just updated to the latest ATi drivers and when I enable triple buffering to try and get better performance, it hangs and I have to C+A+D to get out.

Vista 64, 4 gig, Asus 780g MB. Running SVN 19161. When I disable triple buffering it loads normal. Was hoping to get a bit more performance out of it Sad

Weird...

Macbook
Leopard 10.5.6
Plex (last version)
Core2 [email protected]
2.5GiB RAM
Intel GMA X3100

Flawless workflow in showcase with everything enabled Sad
(no idea how to enable debug in Plex so I can't give the FPS but it's DEFINETELY a lot better than my HTPC).

@mindweaver: and other VGAs too. most of the ATI/Intel seem to be doing ok, so it might be something with old nvidia cards :\

My NVIDIA card is not old...

I can play 1080p content without hardware acceleration and I can't have a smooth skin? I find it odd that no matter how incredibly Aeon is, it's not something that it should required more processor power than a 1080p movie playback.
