[Help] How to invoke update video / music library

Hi,

I would like to invoke (from a script running outside XBMC) a video library update and a music library update.

Can anyone assist me in how I can write such a script?

I need a file, such as update.py which will connect to the local instance and execute a video library update.....

I dont mind if it is via the HTTP interface, EventGhost API or scripting...
