[HELP] creating a screencast on Aeon/Linux
#1
Hi there - firstly congratulations djh on creating such a magnificent skin. It is quite impressive and usable.

I would like to demo my particular setup to a friend across the country and I thought the best way to do this is through a quick screencast capturing my Linux desktop on video.

I have tried xvidcap and recordmydesktop with no luck. Both just record a small 1x1 pixel square when trying to capture the XBMC window. I'm guessing this has something to do with opengl being used?

I would appreciate any assistance in doing this...

I am assuming djh created the YouTube videos using a similar method - if not could you please explain how this video was done?

Yeah, same here. I'm using Transparency but I think this doesn't make a difference.

How do you guys make screencasts on linux? With the help of virtualbox? Or some other app? Uhhhmm...
