How to install/uninstall/upgrade XBMC on a Mac?
#1
Hello.

Can you please point me to this guide? I cannot find it. I'm also failing to find where the readme's are for the mac versions.

Does putting the app in the trash, then doing killall XBMCHelper, and finally rm -rf /Users/name/Library/Application\ Support/XBMC ... does this fully uninstall everything or is there more I should remove?

Also, If a newer version comes out should I just paste the new app over the old one (after killing XBMCHelper) and run it or is there another way?

I feel like I'm the only person running the mac version on an actual mac rather than an apple tv.

I did the same as doctapeppa, and that was all good.

There is one additional directory called ".xbmc" in the user directory to get rid of. In a terminal window do this:

cd ~
This takes you to your user directory.

ls -Fa
This shows the hidden directory with the preceding "." and a "/" after. The "/" is not part of the directory name.

rm -R .xbmc
This gets rid of the .xbmc directory and everything in it.
