Where to get Mediastream skin v2.0?
#1
Hi,

after upgrading to new Babylon version it now requires new version of MediaStream skin.

Did google a lot, failed to find anything, also no info on this forum either.

Anyone know where can I get this skin from?

Thank you.

you get that error when a skin is installed incorrectly make sure you have the main "Mediastream" skin folder in root xbmc skins folder skins\Mediastream not something like this skins\Mediastream 1.0\Mediastream if this is not the case then skin or the app itself may be corrupted.

thanks for your help guys.

Strange thing, looks like after upgrading to Babylon Mediastream skin is actually gone?

I checked in this folder:

/Users/frontrow/Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/skin

and there is 3 folders:

Mediastream (which is empty)
PM3.HD
Project Mayhem III

last two has files and works fine.

Btw, what do I need to do to get Mediastream from SVN build? Do I need to build it myself? Never done this before, don't really want to go there if possible Smile

there hasn't been any big updates after MediaStream 1.0 just some bug bashing
so unless you have had real problems with 1.0 you don't need to upgrade there should be no compatibility issues with 9.04

if you want to try building svn this thread on the plex forum may help

if you run a window pc this app may be easier to use

Same thing happened to me with a Babylon install. The meidastream skin folder was wiped out.

not wiped out, you just put it in the wrong place if you manually installed it there.

/Users/frontrow/Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/skin

is for the default distro skins.

~/Library/Application\ Support/XBMC/skin/

is for user loaded skins.

9.04.alpha1 does not contain MediaStream as a default skin, 9.04.beta1 will.

All I did was update to Babylon and I no longer had the Mediastream skin option. I have since reinstalled it and have no problems with it working fine in Babylon.

A bit off tangent, but I thought I'd also report, that as of yet, I haven't had any Babylon related bugs or problems as it pertains to playing media.

XBMC Skin Manager doesn't work - it tells me that it downloaded MediaStream skin, but the folder is empty!

Any other way or place where I can download this skin from please?

ShakeyBobWillis, you had same issue and you have reinstalled it since. Can you please share how did you get this skin?

Thank you.

are you using vista? if you are you need to right click and "run as administrator", otherwise windows wont let it write to the disired location.

I can't remember exactly where I grabbed the file from. I'm pretty sure it was in the forums here via a link.

Check out the Mediastream thread.

It should be in there.
