I've downloaded the skin straight from github, upon loading I get no user interface, text or fanart, Just the generic colored background images and place holder. Also, has anyone been able to instill git with 64bit vista. I get errors during installation, and the installer crashes.

Have you downloaded the fonts pack from the Aeon website? That will pry get rid of your no text problem. May be a stupid question but have you actually added your own fanart and linked to them in the backdrops setup?

Yeah I've got Augria working fine on Win. Vista 64-bit.
I've never tried to download it via git, I've just gone to github, and downloaded the whole Auriga branch, and it's worked great.
Maybe try doing that? (it's a hassle I know, but it only takes like 5 mins on broadband.

im on 64 bit Vista and git pull all the time. working fine here...
