Aeon-specific meta-media information index (with Pictures)
#1
Lately I have been having issues with all the new files used in Aeon for the new views. I thought it would be great if we could get all the info on one thread to same time for users from digging through multiple page threads. Since I’m a visual person, I also thought it would be great to include pictures that are also color coded and labled , to help other visual users. Big thanks to midgetspy for his original post http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=49927, I’m basically just using his info with my edited pics. (this is a work in progress, I will edit as I learn more.)

TV Views (I will use the example Band of Brothers)
Image
Image

Band of Brothers\
1--fanart.jpg (letter A, C, and H, color blue)
2--folder.jpg (letter B, color yellow)
3--poster.jpg (letter G, color pink)
--Season 1\
----Band of Brothers S01E01.mkv

1) fanart.jpg
• 1920x1080 recommended minimum resolution
• Large background image in multiplex
2) folder.jpg
• Really don’t know much about this one. I used 720p resolution.
3) poster.jpg
• Used as large image in Info View.

Movie Views (I will use the example Watchmen)
Image

Watchmen\
--Watchmen.mkv
1--Watchmen.nfo
2--Watchmen.tbn (letter E and G, color green and pink)
3--fanart.jpg (letter F and H, color blue)
--extrathumbs\
4----thumb1.jpg (letter D, color purple)
5----thumb2.jpg (letter D, color purple)
6----thumb#.jpg

1) Watchmen.nfo
• Movie info
2) Watchmen.tbn
• 720x1080 recommended minimum resolution
• Poster to cache for all views
• Loaded as largeimage in full screen info view
3) fanart.jpg
• 1920x1080 recommended minimum resolution
• Large background image in multiplex
• Medium-sized image in multiplex with "Layout: Art"
4) extrathumb1.jpg
• 960x540 recommended minimum resolution
• Multiplex "Layout: Thumb" and "Layout: Plot"
5) extrathumb2.jpg
• 960x540 recommended minimum resolution
• Multiplex "Layout: Plot"
6) extrathumb#.jpg (# stands for next number, 3.4.5.6…Wink
• 960x540 recommended minimum resolution
• Slideshow in some multiplex layouts?

Any comments or advice on changes are welcome!

I think it'd make more sense to just edit the original but either way, great post!

2 questions from me because I just finally switched from File Level to Folder Level.

1. Is there any use for a "folder.jpg" for movies (because there is an option to create those in MIP)?

2. What do I have to name my trailers so that they work? I named them "trailer.mov" but MIP and XBMC don't recognize them.

EDIT: Never mind about 2. Found out that it has to be "movie-trailer.mov".

File mode uses folder.jpg.

hitcher, one q regarding those extrathumbs:

i've created some of them with imagegrabberII (10 for a movie) and put them in a folder like

24-Redemption
---24-Redemption.avi
---/extrathumbs
------extrathumb01.jpg
------extrathumb02.jpg
------and so on, until 10.

using aeon auriga, when in multiplex view & choosing layout thumb, they show up as a slideshow, but in layout plot they do not show up at all (referred as D on the above example).

do i miss something here?

edit: ahm, nevermind, i found the problem: folder is called extrathumbs, but files inside have to be named thumb1.jpg,thumb2.jpg to show up on "D".

@deucehearts: you should edit your post regarding the extrathumbs to reflect this.
cheers,azido :;):

looks great man. Maybe it's something that djh should think about adding to his Aeon guide/manual.... (if that ever actually gets made, hint hint)

One question!

Can you change the folder images on a per season basis?

(as in image B) I can change it for individual tv shows, but I can't change it for seasons.

Any ideas?

I still can't get the thumbs to show up in MultiplexTonguelot.

I have a folder within the movie folder called extrathumbs.

Then 2 captures in here called thumb1.jpg and thumb2.jpg.

Still nothing though, any ideas?

EDIT: OK, so actually I do have it working, but not for the first and last movies alphabetically. So i've added the images for my last 3 and first 3, however only 4 out of these 6 work.

Well I've never got the Slideshow to work and I've followed djh's guide.

Quote:added: Multiplex view for Movies

Extra thumbs stored in subfolder of individual movie folder called
"extrathumbs". The large thumb/no plot view will pull whatever images are
in that folder and loop them as a slideshow. The two thumbs and plot view
looks for files "thumb1.jpg" and "thumb2.jpg", again in the "extrathumbs"
folder, so be sure to call two of your extra thumbs by those names.

e.g.

Silent Running/extrathumbs/thumb1.jpg
Silent Running/extrathumbs/thumb2.jpg
Silent Running/extrathumbs/<any additional images>

There is an inherent problem with the largeimage controls that means they
only disappear when they're replaced. So if you have a movie that doesn't
have extra thumbs, thumbs from a previous movie will still show. This is a
known issue. If you report it nonetheless I'll have to violate you.

But you do have the first movie in your list with working extrathumbs/thumb1 and thumb2?

I'll keep working my way through my movies a bit more and see if any others don't work.

Yes, the two image view works perfectly with thumb1.jpg, thumb2.jpg but the slideshow never shows anything for me and I've tried various naming formats.

OK worked out how mine is caused, but not sure what is causing it.

I am capturing my thumbs using vlc snapshot. Any movie that comes up in xbmc with the mp3 tag, will show thumb1 and thumb2. However any that come up with the Dolby Digital tag, won't load thumb1 and thumb2 for that movie. Is it the way i'm taking my screenshots?

Slideshow only works in Layout: Plot, not Layout: Thumbs. Works for me with thumbN.jpg (N=1..10).
