Thumbs Up  ASUS P4-P5N9300 - New cheap ASUSTek Barebone PC with NVIDIA 9300 graphics Post: #1
Hi,
here is a great new cheap barebone system from Asus:

http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=fE...ifications

It costs about 150 Euros,
only needs a E5200 Dualcore CPU for additional
60 Euros
and is very nicely
overclockable and
needs an additional RAM module,
which is also cheap.

Then use a cheap USB stick to boot XBMC.

It has integrated
Nvidia 9300 graphics,
so it is DX10 compatible and has HDMI output.
This is the best and cheapest system I guess for XBMC 9.04
use.

You can also use a Quadcore CPU, if you need more power.

Regards, Stefan.

Hmm,
is that the noise from the power supply or
the fan from the CPU ?

Maybe one can just install a more silent fan ?
Maybe a better Papst fan can be soldered into the power supply ?

One of my big questions for mobo's with integrated 9300 graphics:

Can you increase the memory allocated to graphics to 512Mb (the needed amount to play 1080p flawlessly under Linux)?

My pundit (which I use for xbmc live) uses that very same case.. It's a nice case, well built, sleek.. I do wish it was smaller though...

Does this motherboard already work with Sound out via HDMI
via the XBMC Live installation ?

I really need a HTPC with Audio and Video over HDMI.

Is this possible with XBMC Live version
or the other versions ?

Many thanks.
