How to play Blu Ray?
#1
I have used the search feature to try and fined a thread on how to play my Blu Ray rips. I can not seem to fined a clear answer. I'm an average pc user so I don't have the extensive knowledge most of you have here. Can some one please give me a link to a thread that explains how to play a ripped Blu Ray right from XBMC or even better explain it to me in "laymen’s terms".

Thanks in advance.

I don't think XBMC can play the Blu Ray as they're probably have to pay royalties, you'll have to encode it into a different format. Maybe Handbrake can do it?

I have seen some posts on here with people saying they have gotten it to work, although I’m not sure if they have encoded them to a different format. I have used the Handbrake program to re-encode Blu Rays in the past but I’m trying to stay away from that. The Handbrake program takes about 12 hours to encode a Blu Ray move. At that rate it will take weeks to re-encode my movie selection making it unpractical.

I have tried to play Blu Ray's as an m2ts format and it gives me an error saying something along the lines of "to many files". I will post up the exact error message later when I'm home. I'm sure it’s just a setting or how I'm doing it that is making it not work.
