Miserable Performance uPnP twonky - why?
#1
Hi there,

this is my setup:

media server:
* mac mini (ppc) with Leopard 10.5.5 on it
* twonky server (upnp) 5.0.61 running, all media is indexed, i can browse via twonky all media so twonky is fine
* connection via wlan using wrt54gl, the access point is like 6 yd / 3m away, using 802.11g

client side:
* macbook with leopard 10.5.5 on it
* xbmc trying to access content on the macmini via twonky
* same access point, same distance just other direction

problem:
file access as in directory listing - reasonably ok, response time when browsing directory names between 1-5 secs.
file access as in listening = impossible. xbmc freezes, and after a few dozen secs xbmc releases freeze and reports some problems accessing the media.

why is that? do i need to open some firewalls on server side or what?

thx a lot in advance!
